Daycare Services
When your dog attends our daycare program they will exercise, socialize and engage in canine enrichment activities. Every visit. Why? Because sending your dog to a well-structured dog daycare program is a rational, loving response to the changing role dogs play in our lives.
We don't just warehouse your dog in a dog run all day letting them bark, then let them out to play for a couple of hours outside.
At one time dogs were considered tools. They guarded our property, controlled vermin on our land, or helped out when we went hunting. The infinite number of dog breeds that exist today is testimony to their versatility and usefulness to humans. Dogs had a defined role - they did what they were bred to do, and they were healthier for it.
However, in modern times, most dogs no longer labour in the roles for which they were bred. This is especially true for those dogs who live in our homes in urban settings, such as Brantford. We have alarm systems to guard our property, and the only hunting most of us do is at the supermarket, or when we can’t find the remote control. Now, most dogs live in the home as pets, providing companionship, love and fun to our families.
While the role played by our dogs has changed over the decades, their needs have not. Lack of mental stimulation, insufficient exercise and long periods left alone can be very unhealthy for dogs. Behavioural issues can often be attributed to lack of socialization or repetitive boredom. This is especially risky where dogs are left for hours at a time while we are at work, commuting to and from work, or engaging in any of the myriad other activities that make up our busy lives.

That's where dog daycare comes in.
At HoundAway we specialize in getting to know your dog and providing him or her with a structured day to look forward to. Whether it’s twice a week or five times a week, the time your dog spends with us will enrich your pet’s day and help bring their best personality to the forefront. Through our daycare program your dog will receive time for play, for socialization, for canine enrichment and for exercise. Our guests have daily access to treat-based puzzles, ball pits, agility equipment and seasonally-appropriate amenities. By keeping them engaged and challenged, mentally and physically, we work on your dog’s behaviour to reduce or eliminate the issues that can arise when they’re left at home alone all day. They will get time for rest too. When your dog goes home they should be happy to see you, tired, relaxed, and looking forward to the next time they come to daycare. |
